The Birth and Growth of Capstone Ministries International
In 1991, while my husband Michael and I were studying the Word of God together, I received a vivid vision of a pyramid. A line divided it from the apex to the base, and I understood that the left side represented the time from creation to the birth of our Savior, Yehushua, while the right side represented the period from His birth to the end of the age described in Revelation.
That vision led me to spend the next two years studying the Great Pyramid of Giza, often called the “Word of God in stone.” When that season ended, Father called Michael and me to begin a ministry named Capstone Ministries, inspired by Matthew 21:42: “The stone the builders rejected has become the Capstone.” The pyramid symbolized our calling because its Capstone is also its cornerstone, with all measurements beginning at the apex.
Capstone Ministries was established in Moreno Valley, California, in June 1993. From the beginning, our mission was to equip church leaders. Michael served as a prophet, and I was called as an apostle.
In 2000, financial hardship forced us to close the ministry and relocate to Las Vegas. Seven years later, Elohim called us to begin again. When I discovered the name Capstone Ministries was no longer available, Father instructed me to add International. Though I questioned it, He simply said, “You will be.”

We long to see leaders from every nation transformed and united by the unfiltered truth of Scripture — living out God’s purpose with clarity, courage, and conviction, and carrying spiritual renewal, justice, and love into every sphere of influence.

We bridge cultural and theological divides by delivering pure, unfiltered biblical teaching to leaders around the world — free of prejudice or human bias — cultivating spiritual maturity and servant-hearted leadership that transforms communities.
Meet Apostle Maria José Boyd
Apostle Maria José Boyd, along with her late husband Michael, founded Capstone Ministries in July 1993. After relocating to Las Vegas in 2000, the ministry was renamed Capstone Ministries International. She was ordained in 1994 by Bishop Roy Young of Faith Prayer Churches in Springfield, Ohio.
Following Michael’s passing in 2019, Apostle Maria found strength in her faith to continue their shared mission. Based in Las Vegas, she remains devoted to the calling God entrusted to them, honoring her husband’s legacy while forging her own path in ministry.
A dynamic teacher, sought-after speaker, and prolific author, Apostle Maria has spent decades mentoring and coaching others to grow spiritually, embrace their purpose, and walk boldly in their calling.
Meet Pastor Ibrahim Anyona Otieno
Pastor Ibrahim Anyona Otieno leads Capstone Ministries International’s work across East Africa, with a focus on Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Under his leadership, CMI oversees more than 30 churches and runs local pastoral training programs that equip church leaders to serve their communities with strength and integrity.
CMI’s East Africa ministry also operates an orphanage and academy that provides housing and education for vulnerable children, giving them a safe home and the chance to grow in faith and knowledge.
Serving alongside Apostle Maria José Boyd, Pastor Otieno carries CMI’s mission forward on the ground in East Africa, walking closely with pastors, families, and children to build lasting spiritual and community foundations.
M.A.D. — Making A Difference
For more than fourteen years, CMI-Africa Orphanage and Academy has provided orphaned and vulnerable children with a safe home, nutritious meals, quality education, and a strong biblical foundation. We are legally registered with Kenya’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and currently care for approximately 35 children.
Over the years, we have celebrated many success stories.

Many more children have dreams just as big, but they need sponsors to help make them a reality.
For $45 per month, you can sponsor a child by helping provide housing, food, clothing, education, and medical care. If a full sponsorship isn’t possible, a $15 monthly gift or a one-time donation of any amount will make a meaningful difference.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive a photo of your child, their personal story, and regular updates on their growth and progress.
